GDC is a family owned and operated company. We operate with all the characteristics of a strong regional company, providing real-time support from our executive team 24 x 7 x 365. As a family owned business, the principals and upper management team can be contacted via cell phone and be onsite within a few hours notice. Decisions can be made in real time as the principals of the company are readily available and the upper management team has the authority to make high-level operational and financial decisions, which greatly enhance our operations and ability to react to every situation.
HISTORY
Est. 1991
GD Correctional Services, LLC (GDC) began in the correctional & psychiatric food service industry with the privatization of the Essex County Annex Facility food service management in 1991. GDC provided correctional food services to the Essex County Psychiatric Hospital, Correctional and Youth Detention Center for 13 years serving over 41 million meals without incident. In 2009, GDC won the bid for the Monmouth County Correctional Facility and took part in the 6 star ACA accreditation process only 3 weeks after taking over operations. In July 2010, GDC began operations at the Essex County Correctional Facility completing a transition in a 2-week period after being awarded the contract.
